Your accountant keeps Tally. Nothing gets retyped.

IndustryMax posts your documents into TallyPrime and reads them back to check the two agree. One program beside the computer that runs Tally — and nothing to open up on your network.

  • Nothing opened on your network
  • No IT project to run
  • Works on an ordinary connection

The diagram shows IndustryMax posting documents into the copy of TallyPrime that runs in your office. Supplier bill VB-2026-00733, sales invoice INV-2026-01937 and payment PAY-2026-00519 arrive in your TallyPrime company as vouchers with the same amounts. After each one IndustryMax checks Tally again: the bill and the invoice are marked verified because the amounts agree, the payment is being checked, and a receipt and a debit note are waiting their turn. Your office reaches out to us, nothing reaches in, so there is nothing to open up on your network.

How it connects

How the connector works

Tally and TallyPrime are trademarks of Tally Solutions Pvt. Ltd. IndustryMax is an independent product that integrates with TallyPrime, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or certified by Tally Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

How it connects, step by step

The part IT asks about first, answered first.

  1. One program, beside your Tally

A single installer puts a small connector on the computer that already runs Tally. Everything it needs is inside it, so there is nothing else to install, and it starts with the machine and keeps working when nobody is logged in.

  2. It reaches out to us. We never reach in.

The connector calls out to IndustryMax and talks to Tally on the same computer. Nothing reaches in: there is nothing to open up on your network, no fixed address to arrange and nothing for IT to configure. If your office sends its traffic through a proxy, it uses the proxy — and Tally, being on the same machine, never goes near it.

  3. Documents go across, then get checked

Vouchers are posted into your Tally company, and the connector reads Tally again afterwards to confirm the two agree rather than assuming it. It reports what Tally actually says, including the vouchers Tally has deleted.

Why it is built this way, and not the easy way. The door Tally opens for other programs has no password on it. Anything that can reach it can read and write the books, so it must never face the internet. An integration that asks you to let the outside world through to Tally is asking you to publish your accounts. This one never does — which is also why it needs nothing from your firewall.

How those figures were measured

These figures measure reading an existing Tally book into IndustryMax, compared against what Tally itself reports for the same vouchers.

6,056
documents read in from Tally at Tally's exact amountVendor bills, sales invoices, payments, orders, contras and debit notes, brought in from an existing Tally book. Difference against Tally's own figures: zero rupees.

GST difference across 4,166 taxable documents₹30.94 crore of tax. Our stored CGST, SGST and IGST were compared against the GST ledger lines Tally itself posted — including that book's own spelling variations.

Questions we get asked

Do we have to stop using Tally?

No. That is the point of it. Your accountant carries on working in TallyPrime exactly as before, and the documents raised in IndustryMax arrive there without anybody retyping them.

What has to be opened in our firewall?

Nothing. The connector sits inside your network, reaches out to IndustryMax and talks to Tally on the same computer. Nothing reaches in, so there is nothing to open up and no fixed address to arrange.

Does Tally have to be running?

It has to be running for documents to post, but nothing is lost while it is closed — work waits and goes across the moment Tally opens again. The installer treats a closed Tally as a warning, not a failure.

What if the computer running the connector is switched off?

Work queues on the server until a connector is running again. The connector starts with the machine and keeps working when nobody is logged in.

Our network goes through a proxy. Is that a problem?

No — the proxy goes in the installer, and the connector uses it to reach IndustryMax. Tally is on the same machine and is never sent through it.

Which version of Tally does it work with?

TallyPrime, through the connection it already provides. There is nothing to buy or install on the Tally side.

Do we have to rebuild our chart of accounts?

No. Your existing Tally chart can be imported — groups first, then an account for each nominal ledger, with a dry run you approve before anything is created. On a real book, 1,267 of 1,270 ledgers were placed automatically and the three that could not be were named on screen rather than guessed at.
